Roselyn Sanchez Bio

Roselyn Milagros Rodriguez is a Puerto Rican actress, singer-songwriter, producer and model most well-known for her roles as Elena Delgado on the CBS procedural show Without a Trace', and Carmen Luna in the Lifetime comedy-drama Devious Maids'. She has also been featured in films such as 'Rush Hour 2" and 'Boat trip', The Game Plan' and 'Act of Valor. Sanchez was a San Juan native, began performing and dancing at a young age and was a performer for her family frequently. In 1991, she relocated to New York and began attending dancing, acting, and singing classes. Her screen debut was in the comedy adventure film "Captain Ron". Then, a few years later she got her breakthrough role in the role of Pilar Domingo on the CBS soap opera 'As The World Turns'. Sanchez received the ALMA Award for Outstanding Actress in the field of Drama Television Series for her performance in 'Without a trace'. In the 2018 Raul Julia Foundation Awards, she also received the Contribution Achievement Award. Her debut and sole studio album, "Borinquena", was released in 2003. Roselyn Sanchez was back in Puerto Rico in 2003 and was cast as Captain Ron, a 1992 adventure film. Thom Eberhardt directed the film that was shot in Puerto Rico. Her first fame was as a dancer from the island. In later years, she was host of a variety program called "QueVacilon". In 1993, she was the winner of the Miss Puerto Rico Petite contest. In addition, she was named Miss American Petite the year following. The news brought her worldwide attention. This has garnered her international recognition. She was mentioned on numerous lists of gorgeous women, including Maxim Magazine's Hot 100 in 2001, 2002, and 2006.
