Rita Ora Bio
Rita Ora, a British musician and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. She is the granddaughter of director Besim Sahatciu. At the age of one her family made the decision to move to the United Kingdom. She was born in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School at Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing as a child. In 2004, she was featured in the British film Spivs. She auditioned for Eurovision The Country That Needs You on BBC One to be the British contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest but then removed herself from the contest after a few episodes as she was not sure she was ready. Ora's first music release was in 2007 when she featured on Craig David's song "Awkward", and again in 2008 on "Where is Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder. Also, she appears in music videos. Ora began to sing in bars across London. Roc Nation was told by an A&R agent about Ora in 2009, a couple of days after Ora traveled to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora was featured in Jay Z's 2009 music video "Young Forever" as well as "Over" from Drake. Jay-Z was impressed by Ora's talent and kindly signed her to Roc Nation. In which Ora was included in a commercial for Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was a bar owner and she started singing in the same pub. Gwen Stefani was her major influence. Her father was a pub owner and she began her singing shows from the same bar. Friends with Kate Moss, and Ed Sheeran.
